Integration of modern aspects of tissue regeneration into the development of medical products however leads to highly complex requirements for proving safety and efficacy with respect to clinical application.

Therefore a close cooperation of different disciplines and institutions is essential in order to qualify biomaterial products with tissue regenerative properties according to regulatory demands and therapeutic benefit of patients. Proper attention to the health economic general framework shall guarantee that innovative regenerative therapies may find access to the majority of affected patients.
